Member of the UCAS Apprenticeship Stakeholder Group
It is an honour for me (and useful for employers with which I work) that I was invited in 2023 to become a member of UCAS Apprenticeship Stakeholder Group, which has regular in-person meetings at the UCAS offices in Cheltenham. Representatives from 25 employers and sector bodies discuss how we can address challenges and create more opportunities in the apprenticeship sector.

Judge for The UK Social Mobility Awards
The UK Social Mobility Awards are about making the advancement of social mobility a key part of how organisations are run in this country, and being a part of this is extremely important to me. The SOMOs themselves are a unique set of awards that have been specifically established to recognise and encourage action that will promote and increase social mobility within Britain’s companies and institutions.

Liveryman at the City of London Solicitors’ Company
I am a Liveryman of The City of London Solicitors’ Company, a Livery Company for solicitors who practise (or have practised) within one mile of the Bank of England or at Canary Wharf. The City of London Solicitors’ Company is one of the 112 Livery Companies of the City of London. The Company is not the same as the City of London Law Society (CLLS), but is closely linked and they share common origins. The focus of the CLLS is on looking after City of London law firms, and the Company concentrates on looking after individual members.

While the Company seeks to reflect the best of the history and tradition of the City and its institutions, it also prides itself on being a modern organisation, aiming to embrace change, and to be forward looking. A vital part of this includes promoting a diverse and inclusive membership.
How do you join the Company?
First you must first apply for the Freedom of the Company. Optionally, you can then apply for the Freedom of the City of London, which is a historic honour and a mark of your connection to the City. Finally, and also optionally, you can then take the Livery and enjoy all the rights and privileges of the Company. I feel honoured to have taken the Livery and now I introduce solicitor apprentices to the Company and its events. Application forms are on this page of the Company's website.
